Wow 25 years in style…….

Its been a long while since I last updated the blog I thought it was about time I dusted off my laptop and sat down to finally update it and what better time than when we are about to celebrate 25 years in business here. Yes in February 2025 we celebrate 25 years at the Weston Cross. That is an exceptional achievement in this day and age especially as the pub trade is in such decline with pubs up and down the county closing at an alarming rate.

We’ve been through a lot at the pub over the last 25 years and just looking back fills me with such mixed emotions of sadness along with huge pride and happiness. The last 25 years have seen us as a business go through the Foot and Mouth Crisis of 2001, we’ve celebrated the golden, diamond and platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth along with her funeral, we’ve watched as a new King was crowne, we’ve seen several different prime ministers come and go, watched brexit unfold, have survived recessions and finally lived through Covid 19. It’s a lot to go through as a small business.

Personally we’ve celebrated our own milestones with you and yes I am turning 50 this year (I’m not looking forward to this) along with Lesley who celebrates turning 70 and not to forget that Dani is also 30 this year. And we’ve been lucky enough to experience a lot of your own happiness and joy, we’ve held countless christening parties, wedding parties 18th, 21st, 30, 40, 50 the list goes on and on. So looking back we’ve had some great times, we’ve gained and made some amazing friends, we’ve lost some truly amazing people along the way, we’ve partied to the early hours (and definitely paid the price the morning after) we’ve been through some sad times and when we say it’s been a rollercoaster of a journey with a lot of bumps and turns along the way we really mean it! So thank you for all your support over the last 25 years it’s been amazing and without you all we would’ve be here. So let’s raise a glass to the next 25 years…..
